The Hobbit, An unexpected journey.

The Hobbit, An unexpected journey.

R.D.

It's good to see the story before lords of the rings. It is a good movie with a lot of funny stuff and emotional scenes where you almost cry.
Cool fighting scenes and good animation made the movie look brilliant. The introduction and return of the main villain of the movie is also excellent. Yet there are a lot of bad or missing things, or even things that aren't yet understood. One thing, as example, is why the dwarfs and Gandalf didn't go and check the ruins of the castle , where the dark was coming from ?? Next thing is : what are those dark things and where did those spiders came from ?!!!

Now I am coming to the worst parts, for me. Gollum.... I still remember him as Smeargle. I don't know why, but I can't stand him being called Gollum... Next to the fact about Smeargles name, I hoped that Smeargles
past would be explained better in this movie somehow. I searched on wiki's and found some information, yet major questions remain: Why is he alone? Why is he talking to himself? Why is he 'misformed'?

The ending is the worst thing I ever saw. The end would be better if for instance: If there was a fight and someone was going to hit someone with a sword. You would get a shot of that person coming to you about to hit you with, a strike, and then the screen turns black and it says: To be continued.... That would have been a better ending then now. Now you get to see a mountain, looking like a paradise. You think yourself: "Wow, nice... It is beautiful... Now it's almost ending, they are almost there. They'll probably get into major problems or fights. It could also be that the journey is still long but then it will be continued on a fight as a cliff hangar...". But no. Now it ends like that, and an emotional scene with Thorin stating he was wrong to Bilbo. Damn that's just lame. Such a beautiful screen makes me feel like that's the ending. Well actually it looks like an ending and feels like a continue... While actually it needs to look like a continue cause the damn journey isn't finished yet!

Saruman is still a dick as I remember. Makes the scene between Gandalf and Galadriel even funnier. It was the funniest scene ever! The last two also shared a romantic scene together which was very touching. The first emotional scene is when Bilbo is writting his memoires and starts about this journey. The last scene in which Thorin states he was wrong about Bilbo was also very touching!

The Veggi Lady

Although the film itself was brilliant, I found the end unsatisfying and very disappointing. There lacked a real cliffhanger.
The settings were again overwhelmingly beautiful and fairylike.
I'm especially a big fan of the Elves: so mysterious and graceful, Galadriel (played by Cate Blanchett) just seemed to float. The actress was very well cast for the role and plays it truly sublime. All actors played their roles with gusto.
It seemed to me that Gollum did have two personalities: a submissive, sweet 'male' side and a very dominant and malicious "feminine" side. I wonder: how and why did those personalities emerge ?
The fighting, "tricks" and special effects were fantastic!
But that end, that messed up the film for me, so I give it a  ...............................................................

SKYFALL

Skyfall.

The Veggie Lady

From the beginning on, both R. D. and I, did not find Daniel Craig was and is the appropriate person to perform the role of James Bond. Though we can not deny that Craig is a good actor. I myself see more Robert Pattinson as THE Bond. Robert is English, young, handsome, charismatic and talented. Daniel Craig is neither young or hot looking. Robert Pattinson would have to do some workouts to physically come at the good "Bond" level, but he's capable to become in the required  shape. The film itself was very spectalculair. With a few blinks to the past. Who likes a lot of action, beautiful ladies and weapons is in for a treat. You will also find unexpected and poignant plot twists and events in this 007-film. And what a great enemy he had this time ! I liked. Well acted everyone. And, M., I will miss you, although you were a real insensitive bitch, sometimes.

To me it deserves a 7.5 / 10 because, for me anyway, Daniel Craig 'draws', so to speak, the points down a bit, sorry.

R.D.

I liked this James Bond movie, it was exciting and intriging. But I would like to start with the theme song. It sucked...
I mean, okey... You got the explanation from the maker what it is supposed to feels like you are Bond but it totally looked different to me. I wasn't James Bond, it rather looked like James was looking at himself.

The movie itself was very good. Beautiful girls and such. Even where Bond gets shot, looks cool, so you see he isn't unbeatable. I think the coolest part, about this, is the fact that Bond works better alone.

James Bond meets his greatest villain ever, so far. Atleast as a spy and brain behind everything. Silva knows what Bond is going to do before Bond knows it himself. Everything was going as Silva planned. But at fysic stuff , Silva sucked. I saw him during the movie as the major enemy , an enemy Bond had never seen before. I hoped Silva and Bond got in a major shoot out, only those 2 fighting eachother. But was disappointed. Looking for who was the better spy, so to speak. Yet Silva rather went after M., understandable seeing he sees her as the person behind his torture and capture. Althought it could have been turnned out in a fight, cause Silva sees him as M's new pet dog. But no.

There are several sad things like Sévérine and M. dying. But also funny stuff as when the new miss Moneypenny is introduced. I still think the best things in Bond are missing. With those things I mean, the phrase when he orders a martine: "Shaken not stirred!", as the usual 'sex' with hot chicks and also a good looking Bond, instead of Daniel Craig. He doesn't play Bond that bad, he just hasn't the looks for it. Bond is a hot looking sexmachine that every woman wants.

Bond keeps it cool yet can be passionate. Craig plays that well but isn't a hot looking sexmachine. It could be because I am not gay or he really isn't good looking...

I find the movie having a sad and dark undertone, that's where it's different from all the others. Not bad but it could have been way better.

I give it a 7/10

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2

R.D.

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 was even more special then I expected. The other vampires had amazing background stories and terrific gifts. The special effects were used very well to express certain special gifts as well as other stuff. The acting was as always amazing. Seeing the trailer didn't gave it all away and the twists in the movie it gave a special amount of view. Yet there are some questions: What is the story behind Alistair and Carlisle? He seems to be in a state of; I owe you one, I look up to you but still stay away from me! Why did Alistair ran away? He just disappeard at the end! Maybe it is just me but it made me clueless. The blond girl, Kate of the Denali coven was, ofcourse very pretty, as also well played. She and Garrett make a fine couple. Seeing them together is amazing, even when he tries to stop her. Really amazing! Garrett is one of my favorites. Very funny guy and even though I am a guy, I still need to say he looks good. Bad ass! And why didn't Benjamin use his fire powers? He could easily go like: "You are dead, you are dead and now you are dead!". Don't say it would be to easy, just let him kind of die first then? An other thing is that Jane can make creatures suffer by looking at them and saying pain. So if she can't see she can't do anything? Seeing she is the second most dangerous in the row, Zefrina could easily blind her as she did with Kate of the Denali Coven. That way Bella her job would be easier and the fight would have gone way smoother with less sacrifices of our "rioting" vampires. Next to that they all could protect Bella seeing she can block the enemy. Defence and attack of our all beloved vampires could have been way better as you see. Take one of the strongest down and the Volturi start to crumble. Next to that Aro would have searched a way to alternate the future he saw, killing Alice first I believe, seeing she would take out his
second best weapon (Jane). Or atleast he would have seen multiple futures seeing the fact that he changes his mind on every thing that would happen. Something like: "what would happen if we kill that one first?".

Still I give it a well deserved 9,5/10

The Veggie Lady

As I said earlier, I am also a fan of vampire movies (yeah, I'm very versatile ;-)). The last of this series, "HEAVY SIGH", what a pity ! I keep hoping that the author, Stephenie Meyer, does not stop, because, WE SO LOVE THIS ! The only sad thing I found was all that fuss around the two main characters (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Steward) and their relationship, in real live. That aside. It was in any case a timid and popping end (for now I hope). There was a really unexpected turn (which I, by the way, do not tell.) But I was left with some questions, found some things quite illogical, as did R.D. Yep, all the actors were (again) at their very best and I enjoyed every step of the way ! As in the earlier films, the images and battles where incredibly spectacular and beautiful. There really was mega lot of work, time and love put in to it, that shows. In the extra(bonus)they let you take a look behind the scenes and, man, I was amazed at what they had to do to achieve this fabulous result. ALL PRAISE for the whole team ! So, dear Mrs. Meyer, let it Please not end, we thirst for more of these cinematographic wonders and stories.

A well deserved 9/10

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.

R.D.

Abraham Lincoln: vampire hunter, are you sure that's the name? Are you sure it ain't Vampire Creed? It had awsome moves like assassins creed.
I really loved the movie! The moves were super awsome, the historical facts were nice and the fiction made between the actual events made it totally
believable. If I didn't know better it would have actually happend! There are a lot of vampire movies nowadays but this one totally threw the
other stories from the table and made a classic. This movie will be remembered forever!!!!

I give it a 10/10

The Veggi Lady.

In the beginning I thought: "damn, again a film about vampires!" (although I also love this genre). But to be honest, I was VERY very impressed!! Well, what could you expect, with Tim 'magical' Burton behind it? The truth is that the word impressive actually is a huge understatement for this film. The history was so fantastically well interwoven with the fiction that one, during the movie, does not realize where the truth ends and fiction begins. WEIRD, is 't it? The actors who were casted for the picture could not have been more perfectly chosen. The nice thing I found that many plot-twists and events were not predictable, as in many other films sometimes is the case. There are no words good enough to praise this movie (everything and everyone in this film).I would dare say, "See for sure!"
OH, AND MISTER BURTON, PLEASE, NEVER STOP AMAZING US WITH YOUR MAGIC !!!!!!

Score: 9,5/10

THE EXPENDABLES 2.

THE EXPENDABLES 2.

R.D.

It was a top movie with the golden oldies, as we call it. Lots of old fashionate fighting and well-known movie stars (Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzeneiger,...). The movie was super, nothing like an old style movie in a new coat! I really loved it. Some scenes were a bit confusing but that didn't change my opinion of the movie! There were a lot of jokes used in the movie but they were well timed, which made them hilarious! The extra's gave us an idea on how the reality is and it's nice to actually learn something, next to just enjoying the movie.

I don't say this easily but this movie deserves a 10/10

The Veggi Lady

KICKEN! I've seen another incredible good film, a action movie this time! Action in the quadraat, just PHENOMENAL ! And spoken about a star cast, unbelievable. Mr. Stallone, RESPECT! I was always (Here i am again, lol) a big fan of Sylvester Stallone and action movies. But also of most of the appearing actors in this film, such as: Chuck Norris,Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li (hottie !), Jason Statham (YUMMIE ;-)) and the Belgian Jean-Claude Van Damme is also not to be despised. Also my compliments to Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth (To devine for words !), Randy Couture, Scott Adkins, Yu Nan (sweet but dangerous), Charisma Carpenter and many others. It was nice to see Miss Carpenter again, i found her quite cool in the series "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "Angel", she deserves more than only a occasionally pop up, I think. Mildly put, it was a more than fantastic movie ! There were some good jokes and sayings (punchlines), so a little knowledge of the most famous films of some of the actors is a pro. And be sure to take a look at the extras, because there were some nice things to see. Boy's and their toys, HAHA. Although, I could also appreciate the toys, in a film anyway.
Please, more where that came from.

For me a well deserved 10 / 10 !

Battleship

BATTLESHIP.

The Veggi Lady
Well, do you like action then you're thick chiseled ! The whole movie, while sitting on the edge of your seat, this film takes you for just an insanely cool, thrilling, action ride !!
The recording sites were so superbe: largely on the Hawaiian Islands Maui and Oahu, but also in California (Sherman Oaks and Playa del Rey). It gave masterly beautiful images. What the aliens of service concerned, the Regents, we were at a given time totally confused. It looked like there were two parties of aliens involved, but no, they was only one team. That was pretty confusing because of their uniforms and their behavior at times, I must say. And dude, what a phenomenal ships and weapons that the Regents had, they seemed invincible !!! Luckily there is, although at first behaving like an idiot, Lt. Alex Hooper (Taylor Kitch), who shows an incredible ingenuitty. But I must admit that he was well assisted. Mainly by the Japanese Capt. Nagata (actor / model / singer / gitarist Tadanobu Asano, born Tadanobu Sato), some golden oldie veterans and an old, converted into a museum, warship. The older brother, Stone Hopper (actor and hottie Alexander Skarsgard), the pretty chick with heart and brains of Alex, Samantha Shane (played by model / actress Brooklyn Decker) and Vice Admiral Shane (dad of Sam., Played by a bould Liam Neeson (love him!)) play their role more than masterful. More than worth mentioning is the acting debut of Rihanna, all of us very well known as a singer. In her role as Cora Raikes, as a bad ass kicking bitch she is really great and convincing. Congratulations to Hasbro, the director Peter Berg and the entire team that worked on this grandiose epic. TOP BLOCKBUSTER !!

I give it a thick A- (9/10)

R.D.

Battleship wasn't exactly as I expected. I thought it was about the transformers, who can blame me... It was from the makers of transformers.
While watching the movie I finally understood it had nothing to do with transformers, but I still thought it was about 2 species who were fighting
eachother. One seemed to be searching refuge on earth while the other tried to annihilate them. This was due to the robot suits,
the vision Hopper had from the alien who put his hand on Hoppers head. At the end I had many questions. I understood nothing of it. Well, okey
a little bit perhaps? It was good, nice special effects. Rihanna played her part marvelous, even with her slutty image nowadays Maybe
that's what made her part that great? Even though I liked the movie it was to confusing.

I give it a 7/10

Prometheus

The Veggi Lady

Hey my colleague film-lovers,

Today we wanna tell you about the movie "Prometheus".

Wow, confusion in its entirety!! Leaving you still unsatisfied with super many questions and yet so little answers. The final question for me is: was this the birth of the first "Alien" ??? Beautiful settings, well acted but a so confusing storyline. Also found that, at one time, there was a bit too much omitted, and that part you will find back in the extras (in the bonus). I found some twists very predictable, And, although I'm a SIFI fan, I wonder why it is sometimes so absurd "milked out" and why it never once could just start at the beginning rather than in the reverse order (as with "STAR WARS "). You can best qualify this movie as 'complex', at some times a bit too complex, I think. It could also just be me, but it's a weird, sometimes quite absurd and surreal film. I, myself am a bit disappointed, what you, rebel?

A 5/10 for me.

R.D.

Prometheus was a good movie, a lot of tension and, in my eyes, one humorous scene. But the film left me indeed with too many questions, probably to make a sequel. The movie was very confusing, you can puzzle it a little bit together, but there are still large gaps in the plot. All in all a good invention for the formation of "Alien", if that was there goal,

I give it a 6/10
